Financial Manager

KMOP is looking for a Financial Manager for social impact and innovation projects funded by international donors (e.g. Erasmus+, CERV, AMIF, Horizon Europe, Interreg Europe). You will be responsible for the efficient and effective financial monitoring of the EU-funded projects. You will perform budgeting, monitoring and reporting activities and will carry out important operational duties closely with the project management team, assuming responsibility for the overall projects’ success.

📋 Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the budget for new funding proposals in cooperation with the Fundraising and Development team
  • Manage project finance activities and schedules to meet the financial reporting requirements and deadlines (e.g. quarterly, six-month and annual reports)
  • Monitor closely the Grant Contract Requirements and Donors’ Templates
  • Monitor project budgets closely and advise Project Managers/Coordinators on any issues of concern
  • Check expenditures against budgets, prepare monthly expenditure reports and ensure proper documentation and filing
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all project-related financial transactions in the Organization’s financial monitoring system
  • Support with the preparation of calls and service contracts regarding potential service awards to external collaborators
  • Review EU/international project partners’ eligibility for expenses in accordance with the respective program’s handbook
  • Analyze and provide explanations on discrepancies between forecasts, budget, and actual spent or/and unspent amounts
  • Cooperate with the accounting department on any issues related to monitor, tracking and processing of project-related payments
  • Facilitate smooth internal and external audits of donor contracts
  • Perform check and review in Grant, Consortium and Partnership agreements linked with programs and projects, when required

🎓 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field
  • At least 3 years of working experience in finance management
  • Experience in an NGO and/or in financial management of European Programs (e.g., budgeting, reporting and regulations) is definitely a plus
  • Working knowledge of ERP, and CRM Software packages
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills in Greek and English
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, attention to detail and determination to meet deadlines
