Preventing gender-based violence in the digital age: New training platform

New training platform_gender preventing gender-based violence prevention

Recognising the signs of gender-based violence, understanding healthy relationships and knowing how to respond when someone needs support are essential skills for creating safer communities, both online and offline.

To support this goal, KMOP launches the free online platform “Shield”, designed for young people, educators, youth workers and anyone interested in promoting safer digital environments. Developed in cooperation with six European organizations, the platform offers practical knowledge and easy-to-use resources that help users better understand, prevent and respond to gender-based violence.

By completing the e-course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the concept of gender-based violence (definition, types, signs)
  • Explore all forms of sexual harassment and how to prevent and respond to it effectively
  • Identify abusive behaviors (dating violence, intimate partner violence)
  • Learn about consent and building healthy relationships
  • Examine digital forms of gender-based violence and the role of artificial intelligence in facilitating respective incidents
  • Find out how to seek help, to support others, and report violence
