GA number: 2023-1-CY01-KA220-HED-000160668
Funded by: Erasmus+ Duration: 02/10/2023-01/10/2025
Challenge
EU recommendations have noted that the green transition has created a new demand for all sectors to upskill and reskill (EU, 2022). Until recently this has mainly been dealt with through traditional courses and qualifications.
This approach has often brought a reluctance for people to undertake further studies since it is often expensive and time-consuming, particularly as people wish to continue to ensure their employability and career progression while accessing further studies to enhance their own personal development.
It is only recently that learning opportunities of smaller volume (micro-credentials) are being promoted and developed in response to a demand for more flexible, learner-centered forms of education and training.
Innovation
Futures DesignED focuses on the development of alternative spaces of learning (green spaces, transdisciplinary spaces, online spaces etc.) to host micro-credential courses and integrated workshops specifically for the fields of Art & Design in Higher Education (HE) in line with the Green transition.
