Challenge

Discrimination and violence in youth sport is underreported and there has been limited to no research both on the extent of the problem and its effect on young athletes and youth sport in general. Most importantly, there is limited information, guidelines, resources and support for youth sport academy staff and coaches to be in a position to actively address discrimination and violence and support young athletes and children in sport.

Innovation

INCLUDE aspires to foster an inclusive environment in youth sport academies by empowering sports professionals to tackle discrimination and violence against youth athletes.

Action

The report presents the experiences, views and perceptions of youth clubs and practitioners regarding the threat and effect of discrimination in youth sport. Also, the report includes effective approaches and practices that prevent and/or address discrimination in the context of youth sport academies.

The Curriculum is aimed at youth sport coaches and executives of youth academies and covers the issues of diversity, integration, inclusion and dealing with antisocial behaviours.

The e-Learning Platform contains information and instant access to a full suit of material, information and learning resources about promoting inclusion, diversity, integrity and values in youth sports.
