TALENT project partners meet in Athens

KMOP – Education and Innovation Hub hosted the 3rd Transnational Partners’ Meeting of the TALENT project on the 23rd and 24th of November 2023 in Athens, with the participation of the organisations Center of Excellence of the Split-Dalmatia County (Croatia), SMOC – Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures (Bosnia and Herzegovina), CSI – Center for Social Innovation LTD (Cyprus), EAS – European Athlete Student (Malta), the University of Palermo (Italy) and the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Nis (Serbia). The meeting aimed to discuss the documents prepared concerning the standards for identification of talented children-athletes, as well as to formulate the upcoming E-Stop Platform providing information on this topic.

During the meeting, the partners finalised the report on the Standards for Identification of Talented Children, as well as the Methodological Handbook with Standards for the Detection and Assessment of the Potential of Talented Children in Sports.

The partners also developed the structure and content of the modules for the E-Stop Platform, addressed to children, teachers, coaches and parents interested in the topic. The platform will contain practical information about recognising talent, supporting children, preventing their drop-out, and helping them maintain a dual career. The partners will develop the content, which will be piloted in the participating countries beginning in September 2024.

The TALENT Project aims to foster equal education, prevent exclusion, support dual careers, establish new behavioural patterns for the benefit of talented young children, and prepare them for lifelong learning and professional sports from an early age.
