Training workshop on Tackling Racism in Grassroots Football

On March 21st, in honor of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, KMOP organized on 10 March two training workshops in the framework of the “Tackling Racism in Grassroots Football.” project. These workshops were attended by coaches and staff members of Panerythraikos F.C, and covered topics such as preventing and addressing racism in football, as well as promoting resilience and character development among players.

Through this initiative, and in collaboration with European organizations -including the UEFA Foundation for Children and the Fare network – we have developed a promising capacity-building program for professionals in the football industry, with the aim of combatting racial prejudice on and off the pitch and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of football and society.

It is important to remember that the fight against racism is everyone’s responsibility, and football – as the world’s most popular sport with its unique ability to bring people from diverse backgrounds together – has the potential to successfully lead the way in this effort.
