EPIC

EPIC – Entrepreneurial Citizenship for Social Change

The EPIC project aims to foster entrepreneurial citizenship among youth in the Western Balkans.

GA number: 101131326

Funded by: Erasmus+      Duration: 1/03/2024 – 28/02/2026

Challenge

While social enterprises exist in various forms across the Western Balkans, their growth potential is hindered by several obstacles, impeding their ability to effectively tackle social issues and provide viable employment opportunities for young people.
According to the Regional Study on Social Entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans conducted by the Regional Incubator for Social Entrepreneurs in 2020, a crucial challenge that should be addressed is the limited awareness and understanding of this entrepreneurial model among youth, stakeholders, and the general public. This lack of awareness inhibits the growth of the sector and prevents it from fully harnessing its potential for social impact.

Innovation

EPIC aims to equip youth organizations with the tools and resources needed to assist young people in establishing and operating social enterprises. By harnessing the power of social entrepreneurship, EPIC encourages youth to take an active and influential stance in addressing social challenges across the Western Balkans.

Action

The Training Programme is aimed at youth workers and young people who are interested in enhancing their social entrepreneurship skills.

The Curriculum comprises the following modules: i) Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship – Current trends and applications ii) The EntreComp Framework iii) Linking Social Work/Initiatives and entrepreneurship, iv) Social Entrepreneurship Skills v) Social Business Model and Planning for Social Innovation vi) Identifying Social Entrepreneurship Opportunities.
