12,000 people empowered to respond to today’s pressing social issues
For nearly five decades, KMOP – Social Action and Innovation Centre – has been dedicated to combating poverty, strengthening social cohesion, and protecting fundamental human rights. In recent years, we have expanded our focus to address emerging societal challenges such as social isolation, inequality, sustainable development, demographic ageing, and the risks posed by artificial intelligence.
Our 2024 Activity Report showcases the real-life impact of our work through social services, education, applied research & policy, and campaigning. It highlights how KMOP continues to empower individuals, strengthen communities, and help professionals across Europe by offering practical, evidence-based solutions to complex problems.
Key Highlights from the 2024 Activity Report:
- Over 5,000 educators and parents trained on how to prevent bullying and effectively support children.
- More than 1,000 social professionals upskilled in areas such as mental health promotion, digital transition, social innovation, anti-trafficking, and strengthen the quality of democracy.
- 735 residents of Piraeus received psychosocial support for the second consecutive year through KMOP’s community services.
- 90 women and girls empowered at KMOP’s “Women-Friendly Space” in Piraeus – a safe and supportive hub for empowerment and solidarity.
The report also presents key research findings, including insights into online behaviour among children aged 9–12, recommendations and insights for addressing territorial inequalities in the EU, and new training materials to build critical skills among vulnerable groups and social professionals.
