Senior Project Manager (EU-Funded Projects)

KMOP is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead social impact and innovation projects funded by Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, CERV, AMIF, and other EU programs. The ideal candidate will coordinate and inspire multi-disciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure high-quality deliverables while embracing ethical digital transformation. This role requires not only strong project management expertise but also a genuine ability to mentor, empower, and motivate people, fostering collaboration and professional growth within the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, coordinate, and support project management team, ensuring effective collaboration, clear communication, and high-quality delivery through all phases of project implementation and reporting
  • Provide guidance, motivation, and mentoring to team members, fostering accountability, continuous learning, and professional development
  • Plan, organize, and adapt tasks to achieve projects’ and KMOP’s goals, foreseeing and managing risks, timelines, and deliverables
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (research, finance, communications) and external partners, ensuring on-time, donor-aligned delivery
  • Initiate, manage and cultivate relations with external stakeholders, including project partners, donors, EU agencies, and local communities, ensuring effective communication and successful collaboration
  • Directly implement and execute key activities such as project meetings, preparation of documentation, progress/interim reports, research support, development and reviewing of project outputs, and preparation of final reports
  • Contribute to the identification, design, and development of new project proposals, ensuring alignment with KMOP’s strategic goals & EU priorities
  • Monitor and report on project progress and activities using digital project management tools and AI-powered platforms
  • Represent KMOP in local and international forums, ensuring the organization’s visibility and fostering partnerships to support its mission
  • Lead strategic decision-making for complex, multi-stakeholder EU projects, ensuring alignment with KMOP’s long term goals
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in EU policy, social innovation, and digital transformation to ensure alignment with global and European priorities

THE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER:

  • Maintains confidentiality and upholds ethical standards as per organizational policies
  • Adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics for integrity in all procurement activities
  • Refers to the Unit Coordinator of the organization

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in a field relevant to KMOP’s program areas
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience managing EU-funded projects (e.g. Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, AMIF, CERV, Interreg)
  • Proven experience in leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, support, and develop people
  • Expertise in EU procedures, project design, and digital collaboration tools (i.e. MS Teams, Slack)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek, with the ability to adapt messaging to diverse stakeholders and audiences
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and meet strict deadlines
  • Awareness of AI ethics and digital transformation trends
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and commitment to inclusive practices
  • Proven track record in securing EU funding and leading multi-country consortia
  • Experience in policy advocacy, team mentorship, and process innovation

CONSIDERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in relevant field will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in an additional European language (e.g. French, Spanish, German)
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Familiarity with AI-powered project management tools (e.g., Bitrix) and generative AI platforms (e.g. ChatGPT), with an understanding of their ethical limitations
  • Passion for social innovation themes (e.g., digital inclusion, green transition)
