DG FARMER – Digital Education on the Farm to Fork strategy

The DG Farmer project aims to support EU Farm to Fork policy implementation by upskilling agri-food sector VET professionals and farmers.

Grant Agreement Number: 2021-1-HR01-KA220-VET-000033253

Funded by: Erasmus+      Duration: 01-11-2021 – 01-11-2023

Challenge

The Covid-19 pandemic has hindered the ability of VET professionals to share their knowledge in the agri-food sector, as traditional education methods have long been the norm. At the same time, the global environmental crisis has highlighted the importance of biodiversity conservation for human well-being, and the need for sustainable food systems in Europe and beyond.

Therefore, the creation of digital education and training materials would not just fill the need for digital learning but would also accelerate the transitions towards more sustainable food systems and production practices in Europe.

Innovation

The DG Farmer project aims to facilitate the transition to sustainable agri-food practices by promoting the Farm to Fork Strategy policy implementation among VET professionals, farmers and relevant stakeholders.

Action

The toolkit aims to enhance and deepen the knowledge of the VET professionals and educators regarding the EU policies and more specifically the Farm to Fork strategy.

The self-assessment aims to help professionals in this field to become Agri-food Experts, evaluating their knowledge, competences on Agri-food sector and on the Farm to Fork policy but also providing feedback for their development in the field of vocational education.

The e-learning platform provides stakeholders and professionals in the agri-food sector with new skills, competences and training opportunities on sustainable agriculture and on the farm to fork strategy.
