KMOP, as part of the PROSECO project, is exploring how public procurement can become a tool for greater social impact. To make this topic easier to understand, KMOP has developed a series of short videos featuring Maria Moya Garrido, project manager of the PROSECO project at KMOP.
But what exactly is public procurement? And how can it support more inclusive employment and strengthen the social economy?

Working towards more inclusive procurement
PROSECO brings together 11 regional authorities and organisations from 9 European regions to help public authorities make greater use of social procurement and strengthen connections with social enterprises and the wider social economy.
Through research, knowledge exchange and the sharing of good practices, the project aims to support more socially responsible approaches to procurement and contribute to decent work, inclusion and social impact.
With public procurement representing around 14% of EU GDP, its potential to create wider social benefits is significant.
