New support platform for victims of racism and discrimination in Greece

Racism Victim Support

A significant step towards strengthening the protection of victims of racism and discrimination in Greece is the launch of the new digital platform Racism Victim Support, made available to the public by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs, the National Commission for Human Rights (GNCHR), and KMOP.

At a time when almost 8 in 10 people report having experienced some form of discrimination in Greece (Ecosystem survey, 2025), the platform serves as a reliable source of information and guidance for individuals seeking immediate, effective support to recognise and address such incidents. Through the platform, users can access informative material, practical guides, and details about competent authorities and protection mechanisms they can turn to for assistance.

Particular emphasis has been placed on accessibility and multilingual support. The platform is available in 11 languages — Greek, English, French, Ukrainian, Farsi, Dari, Arabic, Urdu, Albanian, Pashto, and Turkish — facilitating access for individuals from diverse linguistic and cultural communities.

KMOP developed the platform within the framework of the European project “ECOSYSTEM: Strengthening Public Authorities’ Capacity to Respond to Intersectional Discrimination through Multi-Agency Coalitions”, which is co-funded by the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme.

The project is implemented by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs, the National Commission for Human Rights, and KMOP, to strengthen the capacity of public authorities in Greece to identify and effectively address incidents of racism, intolerance, and intersectional discrimination.
