Strengthening community-based care across Europe | Study visit in Poland

Study visit

KMOP participated in the 2nd Interregional Learning Event of the FABCOM project in Poland, bringing together regional authorities and stakeholders to exchange knowledge on strengthening community-based care systems across Europe.

The event provided an opportunity for public authorities, care providers, and civil society organisations from different European regions to discuss policies and practices that promote independent living, social inclusion, and person-centred care. Through workshops and site visits, participants explored how regions can better support vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities and older people, to live and participate fully in their communities.

At the same time, the meeting facilitated discussions on strengthening cooperation between regional authorities and service providers, and on identifying practical solutions to accelerate the shift away from institutional care.

By contributing its longstanding experience and engaging in this event, KMOP continues to support knowledge transfer and collaboration among European regions, helping advance deinstitutionalisation policies and develop more inclusive, community-based care systems.
