With the aim of combatting disinformation and promoting digital literacy in schools across Europe, KMOP, in collaboration with 10 leading educational and technological institutions, is developing training materials for secondary educators and students.
KMOP delegates and educators from Greece participated in a three-day meeting and training session hosted by ALSDGC Romania in Cluj, on January 22–24, 2025.
This transnational event provided an opportunity for trainers and educators from the partner countries to share their knowledge and collaboratively develop strategies for addressing disinformation and promoting media literacy in secondary schools, in preparation for the delivery of the MILES training course in each respective country.
The training course, which will be offered in selected regions across Europe over the summer and fall, is targeted at current and future secondary education teachers and covers the following areas:
- Understanding disinformation and media literacy
- The current media environment and the challenges it poses
- The mechanisms of disinformation
- Enhancing media and information literacy
- Community and policy initiatives for combatting disinformation
This effort is part of the MILES European initiative.
