Empowering Ukrainian women and youth through psychosocial services

Empowering Ukrainian Women

KMOP announces a new series of psychosocial weekly workshops for Ukrainian women and youth at the Friendly Space for Women and Girls, blending practical guidance with empowerment and creativity in a warm and welcoming environment.

Every Tuesday, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, Ukrainian women and youth participate in workshops where they share their stories, strengthen their confidence, and gain new skills. Guided by experienced peer mentors, they also receive information and orientation support to help them navigate administrative processes and integration into the local community.

Since September 8, around 15 women have joined sessions on:

  • Work-related integration – identifying skills and exploring growth opportunities
  • Online safety – staying safe and informed in digital spaces
  • Sharing everyday experiences – reflecting on life in the host community
  • Self-esteem and empowerment – using crafts and painting as tools for expression

These meetings do more than share knowledge—they build solidarity and friendship, helping women strengthen their networks, increase their autonomy, and regain confidence in a welcoming community.

To ensure everyone can participate, KMOP provides free transportation ((two-way tickets) and childcare during workshop hours.

The activities are provided in the Ukrainian language and are part of SWEETIE Project, through which KMOP fosters the integration and inclusion of Ukrainian refugees, focusing on improving access to essential services and strengthening community support.
