Over two impactful days in Kielce, Poland (11–12 March 2025), KMOP joined forces with local and international stakeholders to highlight how volunteering can serve as a powerful tool for empowering young people across European regions—especially those not currently in education, employment, or training (NEETs). Through meaningful dialogue, site visits, and the exchange of real stories and practical solutions, the visit showcased how volunteering helps youth gain confidence, develop new skills, and build a pathway toward personal and professional growth.
Day 1: Inspiring Action and Dialogue
The study visit began with a welcoming speech from the Mayor of Kielce, Agata Wojda, and a keynote speech by Vice Mayor Bartłomiej Zapała, highlighting Poland’s role in the Council of the EU. A roundtable discussion followed, moderated by Kama Kępczyńska, where experts, civil society representatives, local leaders, and volunteers exchanged views on how volunteering can serve as a bridge to employment for NEETs. The session provided a platform to share success stories, best practices, and innovative approaches to supporting youth inclusion across Europe.
Day 2: Hands-On Learning and Local Impact
The second day was dedicated to field visits, allowing participants to witness the local impact of volunteer-driven initiatives in action. KMOP, along with other stakeholders, visited three key organizations:
-
Regional Volunteer Centre – A hub for community engagement and structured volunteerism.
-
Caritas Kielce – A local branch of the humanitarian network offering services to vulnerable groups.
-
Polish Red Cross Foundation – A long-standing institution in humanitarian aid and youth social inclusion.
These visits highlighted how grassroots volunteer efforts can create tangible change and serve as models for replication across Europe.
A Shared Vision for Youth Empowerment
KMOP’s participation in the study visit marks a continued commitment to strengthening the role of volunteering in the personal and professional development of young people. Through interregional collaboration, the exchange of best practices, and active engagement with local actors, KMOP contributes to the creation of inclusive and sustainable pathways for youth across European regions.
