What does it mean to feel creative again, to live in a stable environment, and to experience daily moments that rebuild your confidence? How can community-based care restore a sense of hope, purpose, and belonging?
These questions find answers every day at KMOP’s three Group Houses in Greece. Since 2004, under the national “Psychargos” programme, we have been offering comprehensive support to 45 individuals with chronic mental health conditions, helping them live with dignity and independence.
In our new video series, you’ll hear directly from the people who know our services best—the mental health professionals who support our beneficiaries every day. With simplicity and honesty, KMOP’s mental health teams speak about the value of consistent care, trust-building, and human connection.
As Dr. Antonia Torrens, KMOP’s Executive Director explains:
“The core purpose of deinstitutionalisation is twofold: to continuously improve the quality of life for people with mental health conditions—so they can claim and enjoy the same rights as anyone else—and to combat stigma by fostering real connection with the wider community.”
