KMOP is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Officer to join our Finance Team and contribute to the sound financial management of EU-funded and internationally funded projects, including Erasmus+, CERV, AMIF, Horizon Europe, Interreg, and other European funding instruments. The successful candidate will support project implementation by ensuring compliance with donor requirements, monitoring project budgets, and delivering accurate financial reporting in close collaboration with Project Managers and the Accounting Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with Grant Agreement provisions, donor regulations and reporting requirements
- Monitor project budgets closely and assist Project Managers on any issues of concern
- Review project expenditures against approved budgets and ensure the completeness and accuracy of supporting financial documentation
- Ensure timely, accurate and compliant recording of project-related financial transactions in the organisation’s financial management system
- Prepare periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, interim and final) in accordance with donor guidelines and contractual obligations
- Support with preparation of calls and service contracts regarding potential service awards to external collaborators
- Review partners’ financial reports and verify the eligibility of expenditures in accordance with programme rules and funding regulations
- Identify discrepancies between forecasts, budget, and actual spent or/and unspent amounts
- Liaise with the Accounting Department to ensure accurate payment processing, reconciliation and financial tracking
- Assist in internal and external audits of donor contracts.
- Review Grant, Consortium and Partnership Agreements from a financial and compliance perspective, when required
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or another relevant field
- At least 1 year of professional experience in the financial management of European-funded projects (e.g. budgeting, financial reporting and compliance with programme regulations)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Greek and English, as the role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Working knowledge of ERP, CRM Software packages
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
Considered Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in relevant field
- Proficiency in a second foreign language
