On May 28th, 2025, KMOP brought together 42 participants, including professionals, experts, and stakeholders from the labor market, employment services, and migration sectors to strengthen migrants’ integration into the primary sector.
During the event, Eleni Lora Daskalou – Project Manager at KMOP – highlighted the important role of local employment centers in supporting migrants’ socio-economic integration. Other speakers included Patricia Martínez Sáez from AEIDL, who presented the EU’s Rural Pact, and Sven Sterckx from the Province of Flemish Brabant, who discussed regional policies supporting migrant employment. Participants also heard from Rupay Egas of Collectif des Femmes ASBL, who addressed key challenges migrants face, such as limited workplace capacity in certain regions, the need for state reform, the quality of available opportunities, and difficulties in recognizing migrants’ educational and professional backgrounds.
Additionally, Emanuela Pisanò of the Assembly of European Regions shared success stories and good practices for inclusion, and Joan de Larra Rosello from the Catalonia region presented local challenges. The event concluded with a lively Q&A session and a discussion on the next steps to further improve migrant integration.
