KMOP strengthens bullying prevention in sports with a new online course for coaches and staff

Live Without Bullying

As part of its ongoing commitment to preventing violence and bullying in sports, KMOP – Social Action and Innovation Centre – has launched a new free asynchronous training programme designed specifically for coaches and professionals working in sports organisations. The initiative is delivered through our Live Without Bullying initiative.

The course, titled Recognising and Addressing Violent and Bullying Behaviour in Sports, aims to provide sports professionals with the knowledge and practical tools needed to identify, prevent, and manage incidents of violence and bullying.

Through engaging and accessible content, participants will learn how to:

  • Identify the various forms of violence and bullying;

  • Apply preventative measures in sports environments;

  • Foster a positive team atmosphere;

  • Address incidents of violence at both individual and organisational levels.

The programme also features six supplementary modules covering specialised topics such as adolescence, communication with parents and children, cyberbullying, hate speech, crisis management, and more.

Commenting on the new programme, Dr Antonia Torrens, General Director of KMOP and founder of Live Without Bullying, stated:

“Those who contribute to sport and to children are offering invaluable services. At KMOP, we are committed to supporting and continually improving these services, helping sports professionals to meet the demands of their vital role – one that shapes future citizens with empathy and integrity”

Renowned athletes from Greece share positive messages to showcase the social role of sports, including Olympic gold medallist Voula Patoulidou, international footballer Angelos Charisteas, and Paralympian Antonis Tsapatakis.

Developed by a team of expert psychologists, the training aligns with European standards on child protection, mental health, and human rights in sport.
