KMOP had the privilege of organising on Monday, 18 November 2024, in Athens, a roundtable discussion at the request of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Volker Türk, focusing on the human rights landscape in Greece.
The discussion brought together Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), each offering insights on pressing human rights issues.
KMOP highlighted the rise in hate crimes and hate speech, drawing on fieldwork to emphasise these concerns. We proposed steps like public awareness campaigns and training for authorities, who often lack the skills to support victims effectively.
We sincerely thank all participating CSOs for their insights and dedication to defending human rights in Greece.
