On Saturday 10 May, KMOP took part in the WHO/Europe event “Growing Healthier Together”, held at the Zappeion Gardens in Athens. During the event, we contributed to meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange on promoting the mental health and wellbeing of children, adolescents, and their families.
On the event’s main stage, Angeliki Oikonomopoulou (Psychologist MSc, Scientific Director of the Ariadne Day Centre), Maria Kritsotaki (Social Worker), and Nikoleta Kyranna (Sociologist) presented KMOP’s initiative Live Without Bullying. They explained how this programme supports and empowers children, parents, and educators in preventing and addressing incidents of school and online bullying.
More specifically, through Live Without Bullying, we offer:
-
Free and anonymous counselling from specialised professionals via the Live Without Bullying mobile app;
-
Asynchronous online training for parents, teachers, and sports coaches, providing practical tools and knowledge to manage bullying effectively.
At KMOP’s information stand, professionals from the fields of health, education, and media, as well as members of the general public, learned more about the organisation’s services and activities. The focus was on psychosocial support for both children and adults, alongside empowerment programmes for caregivers.
The event brought together over 20 organisations and featured interactive workshops and creative activities for children and young people. Participants had the chance to engage with key concepts such as emotional resilience, stress management, and positive mental health through experiential learning.
Our participation in this event reaffirms KMOP’s ongoing commitment to fostering mental health and wellbeing for all and building a safe, empathetic environment for children and families. As the event clearly demonstrated, collaboration and the exchange of best practices can lead to meaningful improvements in people’s lives.
