On 12 February 2026 in Brussels, KMOP entered a decisive European discussion: can entrepreneurship truly open doors for migrant women?
At the conference “Empowering Inclusion through Entrepreneurship”, hosted at the European Economic and Social Committee under the WISER project, researcher Georgia Alexandrou brought KMOP’s experience into this policy debate.
Addressing the systemic gaps that persist across Member States, she stated:
Across Europe, migrant women face structural barriers — fragmented support systems, limited access to finance, complex procedures, weak recognition of qualifications, and the absence of childcare and multilingual services.
Building on this analysis, KMOP presented practical solutions — integrated local support hubs, targeted funding instruments, and stronger alignment between migration and social economy policies — designed to turn ideas into entrepreneurial initiatives. These measures aim to create an enabling environment where migrant women can not only start businesses but also sustain and grow them, transforming entrepreneurship into a realistic and accessible pathway of inclusion.
By contributing to the discussion, KMOP reinforced its commitment to evidence-based policy design and to strengthening entrepreneurship as a pathway that promotes cohesion, resilience, and equal opportunities for all across Europe.
