LEGENDS

Local Excursions Generating Elderly Narratives for Digital Storytelling

GA number:  KA220-ADU-252F7F1E

Funded by: Erasmus+     Duration:  01/11/2025 – 31/10/2027

Challenge

Europe faces an intergenerational gap driven by population ageing and digital exclusion, with most older adults lacking basic digital skills and facing increased isolation. At the same time, young people have limited opportunities for civic engagement and leadership development. Expanding intergenerational learning is essential to promote social inclusion, mutual understanding, and active citizenship.

Innovation

LEGENDS bridges the intergenerational and digital divide by uniting older adults, young volunteers, and adult educators in digital storytelling and photography workshops. It combats social isolation and ageism while boosting digital skills, civic engagement, and intergenerational understanding. Older adults share personal and local heritage stories using digital tools, young people gain leadership and volunteering experience, and adult educators receive training to sustainably deliver inclusive intergenerational programmes across communities.
