Bringing local experiences to European discussions on migrant inclusion and labour rights

Integrality partners

How can local experiences help shape European policies on migrant integration and labour rights? KMOP explored this question with its INTEGRALITY project partners during two days of policy dialogue in Brussels on 6–7 October 2026, focused on fair and dignified employment in agriculture.

A key part of KMOP’s contribution was facilitating the project’s final evaluation workshop, guiding partners in reviewing the project’s achievements, sharing lessons from its work and discussing how its results could be sustained.

Sharing local perspectives with European stakeholders

As part of the programme, KMOP and the INTEGRALITY partnership met with Helena Sales, Policy Officer at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME). The partners presented findings and experiences from five European countries, bringing the perspectives of local authorities, migrants, agricultural operators and young people into the discussion. Sales also shared considerations on future EU support for asylum, migration and integration.

The consortium also attended the final conference of AMIL – Alliance Multi-stakeholders for Migrants Integration and Labour, hosted by ALDA at the European Economic and Social Committee. The conference examined how cooperation among different stakeholders and local partnerships can support sustainable labour market integration. Lucia Maddoli, Deputy Director of FELCOS and coordinator of INTEGRALITY, joined a panel discussion on the role of local authorities and EU-funded initiatives in turning European values into practical action.

The Brussels discussions reinforced KMOP’s work with European partners to connect local experience with policy dialogue. Listening to community voices and recognising the realities faced by migrants can help inform policies that promote inclusion, fair employment and decent work.
