Bringing migrants’ realities into policy: KMOP joins the EU Migration Forum Bureau

EU Migration Forum

We are proud to announce that Alexandra Harkay, Coordinator of KMOP’s Policy & Research Department, has been elected to the Bureau of the European Migration Forum — the EU’s central platform for dialogue between civil society and institutions on migration, asylum and integration.

This election is not only a recognition of Alexandra’s expertise. It’s a milestone in KMOP’s journey to contribute to bridging  the gap between field experience and European policymaking.

For over four decades, we’ve worked side by side with migrant communities, refugees, and frontline professionals. Now, we take that lived experience to the European Institutions— where policies are formed, and where voices from the ground have to be heard.

Alexandra’s role in the Forum will enable KMOP to bring forward to the EU Institutions:
🔹 The voices of the migrant and refugee communities we serve

🔹  The realities faced by frontline workers we work with

🔹 Insights from direct service provision

🔹 Evidence from our social innovation initiatives

As Alexandra Harkay stated:

I look forward to contributing to the Forum’s mission of advancing migration policies that are inclusive, people-centered; shaped by lived experience and rooted in dignity.
