How can art influence the cognitive and emotional functioning of older adults? What are the benefits of intergenerational artistic approaches for mental health?
These questions will be at the heart of the upcoming public discussion “The Healing Power of the Arts: Redefining Care for Older Adults,” organised by ARTIT, with the support of KMOP, on Friday, 24 October 2025, from 17:00 to 19:00, at WHEN Hub (29 Sokratous Street, 105 52 Athens).
The event programme includes:
- Presentation of the “Creative Care” initiative, which harnesses the power of creativity by integrating artistic activities into the care of older adults within health and care settings.
- A thematic discussion with experts from the fields of art, social sciences, and elderly care.
Thematic Sessions:
- The role of art in the cognitive, emotional, and social empowerment of older adults.
- The mental health benefits of intergenerational and artistic approaches in care.
- Good Practices and case studies in Greece and the European Union.
