The event shed light on how businesses can generate positive social impact and enhance the employability of young people.

Dr. Yannis Pappas, Head of Programmes at KMOP, and Mr. Konstantinos Styliaras, Analyst at Federation of Industries of Greece, highlighted the importance of socially responsible enterprises that prioritize positive social impact. They noted that these organizations are crucial in addressing pressing contemporary issues such as climate change, poverty, and inequality.

In his presentation, Dr. Pappas elaborated on how theย Socialย Impact Manager role can effectively bridge corporateย social responsibility with community development. In this context, KMOP is collaborating with the Federation of Industries of Greece to create an innovative training program, which will be released in early 2025. The program aims to help businesses integrate this new professional role, ultimately amplifying their social impact.

During the event, representatives from variousย socialย enterprises showcased their initiatives aimed at promotingย social impact. Maria Giannetou, Communications Director of Junior Achievement Greece, discussed JA’s efforts to cultivate socialย entrepreneurship in schools, empowering students to become proactive change-makers.

Following her, Mrs. Efi Chrysou, Founder of “School Synergy Snacks,” and Mr. Konstantinos Karras, President of the “Smili” addressed the vital role social enterprises play in creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities, emphasizing the necessity for their integration in all aspects of life.

Mrs. Aphrodite Azari, Senior Project Manager at KMOP, presented the organization’s initiatives to foster socialย entrepreneurship and the establishment of newย socialย enterprises. These endeavors nurture an environment conducive to innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development, ultimately benefiting individuals, communities, and the environment.

In closing the event, Mr. Tasos Palaiologos, HR Manager at KMOP, highlighted the significant “paradox” of the labor market: despite numerous job vacancies, companies face challenges in locating qualified candidates, while unemployment remains elevated. This situation underscores the urgent need for a better alignment between the skills imparted through education and the actual demands of the labor market.

In this context, Mr. Palaiologos introduced KMOP’s initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills of young people and preparing to succeed in the labor market. He announced a new free asynchronous training program designed to improve young people’s personal and professional skills. Discover more here.

The event was moderated by Mr. Antonis Klapsis, Vice President of KMOP, who stressed the significance ofย social entrepreneurship as a catalyst for fostering a more sustainable society.
