KMOP – Social Action and Innovation Centre organises on Thursday, 10 December 2020, 15:00-17.00, an online discussion on gender-based violence (GBV) against girls and women refugees and migrants and the role of cultural mediation in dealing with GBV cases.
In particular, the online discussion aims to highlight the following topics:
- Challenges in managing GBV cases against refugee and migrant girls and women.
- The role of Cultural Mediators and their collaboration with professionals when dealing with cases of SGBV.
- The empowerment of girls and women of migrant / refugee background through cultural mediation.
- Suggestions for improvement and good practices, aimed at better responding to the needs of survivors and tackling the problem.

The online discussion will take place in the framework of the BASE project, aiming to empower migrant and refugee women as Cultural Advisors through the implementation of a training program, which will address gender-based violence, in order to foster communication between support service professionals and girls victims of GBV.
