WISER

Women-centred Intervention for Social
Entrepreneurship Resilience

An initiative seeking to facilitate migrant women’s social entrepreneurship

GA number: 101140769

Funded by: AMIF    Duration: 29/02/2024-27/02/2026

Challenge

The underrepresentation of migrant women in entrepreneurship across Europe has emerged as a significant concern, with many facing barriers that raise obstacles to their economic participation and empowerment. Such barriers compromise the potential for social and economic value creation, innovation, and job creation that entrepreneurship offers.

Innovation

WISER aims to provide comprehensive support to migrant women, fostering their economic independence and participation, social inclusion, and community development.

Action

WISER Hubs serve as one-stop-shop centers across the European Union, providing migrant women with comprehensive support—including training, coaching, mentoring, networking, and business development—to assist them in planning, starting, running, and growing social enterprises.

WISER Skills Boosters are non-formal, and practice-oriented trainings that focus on a variety of transversal competencies and soft skills essential for migrant women to thrive as social entrepreneurs (e.g., national language courses tailored to their specific needs).

WISER Communities of Practice (CoPs) are multistakeholder groups that enhance the inclusiveness of local entrepreneurial ecosystems and the entrepreneurial potential of migrant women through bottom-up exchanges by facilitating in-person and online gatherings to build networks, share knowledge, identify gaps, and rethink local ecosystems.
