In March and April, KMOP, in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Vulnerable Persons and Institutional Protection of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, the Greek Forum of Refugees, and the Labour Inspectorate, strengthened the capacity of 130 employers in the tourism sector, alongside staff members from Migrant Integration Centres and Community Centres across Greece, to prevent, identify, and respond to cases of human trafficking.
During the seminars, participants explored:
- key concepts and European data on human trafficking,
- forms of exploitation and victim profiles,
- indicators and warning signs of trafficking,
- prevention strategies and risk management tools,
- referral mechanisms and effective communication approaches with potential victims.
The seminars form part of the HOST initiative, funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), which aims to combat human trafficking in the tourism sector. KMOP coordinates the initiative in partnership with the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, the Greek Forum of Refugees, and organisations from six European countries.
