Dr. Antonia Torrens, General Director of KMOP, has been elected President of the Confederation of Family Organizations of Europe (COFACE Families Europe). The election took place during COFACE’s General Assembly on the 26th of September in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Founded in 1958, COFACE Families Europe brings together members from 23 European countries, representing millions of families at the European institutions. The organization is dedicated to promoting welfare, inclusion, human rights, and equal opportunities for families across Europe.
Dr. Torrens’ election is a milestone for the organization since she becomes the first Greek to lead COFACE Families Europe.
Dr. Torrens, following her election, stated:
“In a time of significant social challenges in Europe, where the concept of family is continually evolving, COFACE’s role should be even stronger in defending the rights of all family forms, enhancing the effectiveness of social policies and achieving a better work-life balance. COFACE also plays a crucial role in shaping key European policies, including demographic issues, which are of particular importance for Europe.
