In the framework of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, the Social Cause Club in Dajç, Municipality of Shkodër, was inaugurated on December 5th 2023. The club is set up in the premises of the Community Center for the Family, and serves as a place for women and girls, survivors of gender-based violence to socialise, receive psychological and legal support, as well as to gain new knowledge and to develop their skills for greater employment opportunities. The inauguration event focused on women’s and girls’ empowerment, raising awareness of all forms of violence and its prevention, as well as providing integrated social care support services.
High-level representatives from the EU Delegation, the Municipality of Shkodra, the organisations Different & Equal and KMOP participated in the inauguration, as well as representatives from the Dajç Administrative Unit, private businesses, women and girls from the area, including victims of gender-based violence, and local residents.
The event was organized by the Municipality of Shkodra, the Organisations Different & Equal and KMOP – Center for Social Action and Innovation (Greece), in the framework of the joint project “Tightening up the Victims’ Empowering Systems in Albania@ Shkodër (TVESA@ Sh)”.
The project is part of the programme “EU support to Social Inclusion in Albania”, which aims to contribute to increasing the access, coverage and inclusiveness of social services and the provision of inclusive education and employment opportunities.
